There’s just no stopping them… as well as supporting OMD in Germany, VILE ELECTRODES have just been confirmed as support to JOHN FOXX & THE MATHS at Brighton Concorde 2 on Friday 7th June 2013 too.
The duo of Anais Neon and Martin Swan have been on a roll since being confirmed as OMD’s opening act in Germany and have been making preparations for the upcoming jaunt. The invitation to open for JOHN FOXX has been the icing on the cake and The Electricity Club are especially proud as VILE ELECTRODES headlined our inaugural live event TEC001. With TEC001 support act CURXES providing a ‘1996 Remix’ for CHVRCHES‘ new single ‘Recover’, the event’s legacy has turned into a bit of a double whammy and more it would appear! 🙂
This dual billing brings together formally two pairs of kindred spirits from the synthesizer world… when VILE ELECTRODES went to see JOHN FOXX & THE MATHS at London’s Cargo last year, an enthusiastic if not exactly eagled-eyed fan went up to Anais excitedly and said “You’re Hannah Peel, aren’t you?!”. “We’re both redheads” recalled Anais, “so it might have been understandable, had Hannah not been on stage, right in front of our eyes, at the time!”. Meanwhile, in Martin Swan, Benge aka THE MATHS has rival in the synth collector extraordinaire stakes. While Martin has still got a bit of a way to go in acquiring an analogue fort, it will be interesting to see who turns up at Brighton Concorde 2 with the largest on-stage armoury!
VILE ELECTRODES open for JOHN FOXX & THE MATHS at Brighton Concorde 2 on Friday 7th June 2013. Please visit and like their Facebook page to receive news feeds and how to purchase tickets from them for this show
