MOOGER is Barnsley’s own Mike Stanley who combines the classic sounds from Synth Britannia with today’s electro acts with influences varying between DEPECHE MODE, ERASURE, KRAFTWERK, THE HUMAN LEAGUE, NIK KERSHAW, NORTHERN KIND and GOLDFRAPP.
The new album ‘World In Me’ was written and produced by Mike Stanley as a homage to vintage synthpop. The album takes the listener on a danceable emotional journey with pulsating synthetic melodies and rhythms.
Opening song ‘Fantasy’ actually has a robotic solo Martin Gore quality about it if Mr Gore did his own songs instead of obscure covers while the spectre of his former sparring partner Vince Clarke is best represented by ‘Coming Around’, which is reminiscent of Clarke’s work with ROBERT MARLOW. Vince Clarke himself has via Twitter described World In Me as: “Very cool (Very ‘Depeche’)”. Meanwhile, ‘POV’ and ‘Help Me’ take on a darker shades and could at times be Bristol synth rockers MESH.
‘World In Me’ will be enjoyed by those synth enthusiasts who may have nicknamed their own bedroom studio ‘Eric’s’.
‘World In Me’ is available now as a physical CD from Lexar Music: http://shop.lexermusic.com/ and digitally from the usual online outlets
