LITTLE BOOTS Every Night I Say A Prayer

After the low key release of Shake last Autumn, LITTLE BOOTS aka Victoria Hesketh finally relaunches herself into the music spectrum with new single Every Night I Say A Prayer.

With an ELECTRIBE 101 deep house template and a topline that crosses SAINT ETIENNE with KYLIE MINOGUE, it seems the kooky synth girl persona is truly gone, now ably inherited by GRIMES. Directed by Zaiba Jabbar, the video cleverly gets round the need for Victoria to do any voguing herself by having her stand perfectly still around a flexibly cosmopolitan dance troupe.

The song itself is enjoyable and pleasant but with new acts such as QUEEN OF HEARTS and KOVAK all doing danceable electropop in a seemingly more dynamic manner, Miss Hesketh really has her work cut out to fight off the competition. Is the current mainstream appeal for rave culture really the way to go? Only the music buying public can decide…but for those who want something with a bit more of a New York electrodisco vibe, the Tensnake Remix that’s been doing the rounds may be more preferable.
