VILLA NAH to support OMD on UK Tour

As one of the first UK music websites to champion the duo, The Electricity Club is pleased to announce that VILLA NAH will be the support act on the UK leg of OMD's forthcoming History Of Modern tour.

The Helsinki duo's debut album Origin is one of the best albums of 2010 and its crisply melodic synthesized sound, coupled with a touch of Nordic melancholia, has been steadily gaining a host of admirers. Like OMD crossed with A-HA, or even GARY NUMAN on Prozac, songs such as Remains Of Love, Ways To Be, Autumn Gone, Some Kind Of Dream and Envelope showcase the quality of VILLA NAH's dreamily glacial electronic pop.

Their singer/songwriter Juho Paolosmaa recently expressed his admiration for OMD in an exclusive interview with The Electricity Club: "I have a special fondness for OMD simply because they've composed ageless pop music. A lot of their songs could be played without synthesizers and they'd be just as beautiful - Souvenir is a great example of this... it's a perfect pop song, OMD have a lovely ear for melody. I think that's hugely important"

VILLA NAH will be playing the following dates on OMD's History Of Modern tour:

Brighton Dome (Oct 29), Bristol Colston Hall (Oct 31), Nottingham Royal Centre (Nov 1), Glasgow Concert Hall (Nov 2), Liverpool Arena (Nov 4), Ipswich Regent (Nov 5), London Hammersmith Apollo (Nov 7), Birmingham Symphony Hall (Nov 8)
