TEC001 Preview ­ New Songs from VILE ELECTRODES and CURXES on Audio Player

Plus TENEK and THE MYSTIC UNDERGROUND

As part of the build-up to TEC001, The Electricity Club are pleased to have an exclusive preview of a new song each from the two bands VILE ELECTRODES and CURXES who are playing our first live event. First on The Electricity Club’s audio player is My Sanctuary, a six minute epic from VILE ELECTRODES which sees them take the melancholic drama of imperial ORCHESTRAL MANOEUVRES IN THE DARK to another level. This track closes their forthcoming debut EP which will be on sale on the night.

Meanwhile, Brighton duo CURXES contribute the excellent Once Upon A Time which is an exciting fusion of SIOUXSIE & THE BANSHEES, DEPECHE MODE and KRAFTWERK. This is a subtly different version of the track that has been aired previously on other blogs. So for those with an eye for the finer detail, we salute you!

Also featured on the audio player is the radio edit of What Do You Want? by TENEK. This beautifully string laden number features Chris Payne who famously played the viola part on GARY NUMAN’s classic synth ballad Complex. This is one of the new tracks from EP2 which is available now on Toffeetones Records. The final track comes from Brooklyn duo THE MYSTIC UNDERGROUND. With their passionate buzzy glam stomp entitled Discord & Panic, Vladimir Valette and Benedetto Socci endorse all the elements of the Big Apple’s electronic disco heritage with their sound also recalling NEW ORDER, PET SHOP BOYS and INFORMATION SOCIETY.

The Electricity Club’s first live event TEC001 will take place on SUNDAY 30TH OCTOBER 2011 at The Bowery, 36-38 New Oxford Street, London WC1A 1E. The venue is situated near the retail heartland of London and is a short walk from Tottenham Court Road tube station (Central Line only – please note Northern Line will not stop here due to engineering works). With the focus on live music, the occasion will also provide a social opportunity for like-minded music fans to gather and share in their passion for electronic music.
