MIRRORS to support OMD European Tour
The Electricity Club are pleased to say that another band it has championed MIRRORS will be the support act on the European leg of the tour of OMD's forthcoming History of Modern tour. Singer James New had actually revealed the news to The Electricity Club after their brilliant show at Madame JoJo's but TEC had to keep this under wraps until official confirmation. OMD's Andy McCluskey is a big fan of MIRRORS so they are a natural choice as opening band.
Hailing from Brighton, MIRRORS possess a pop-noir sophistication. The quartet feature an instrumental line-up of three synths and electronic percussion that echoes OMD's early pioneering work if it had been created in the 21st Century. MIRRORS look the part too, possessing a sense of European modernism with their stylish suits, thin ties and short hair not unlike Organisation-era OMD.
Brilliant songs such as Fear Of Drowning, Hide & Seek, Into The Heart and Somewhere Strange echo the musical template of the Liverpool Eric's scene with a dense electronic sound and mournful melancholy. However, MIRRORS can also do pure synth pop as the bouncy Searching The Wilderness demonstrates.
As confirmed on The Electricity Club previously, VILLA NAH will be the support act for the UK leg of the tour.
