Susanne Sundfør gives her delicately crafted songs a wide-screen treatment in this audio-visual show, being performed for the first time outside of her native Norway.
The classically-trained singer/songwriter and producer creates music which ranges from charming folk-song to throbbing synth-pop, and has collaborated with the likes of John Grant and Röyksopp in the process. But running through all of her five albums is a deeply personal style of songwriting, with minimal instrumentation allowing the emotion to shine through. On the most recent record, Music for People in Trouble, these sparse arrangements offer beautiful moments of respite for a world in turmoil.
Appearing in support of Susanne Sundfør will be free Jazz trio Gard Nilssen’s Acoustic Unity. Lead by drummer Nilssen, the group also features fellow improvisation-loving musicians Petter Eldh on bass and André Roligheten on saxophone.
