Event Details

This time the NEW WAVE OF WAVEFORM brings you:

JJD; a former Vancouverite now residing in the UK who has clocked in around twenty years of musical output, having released a couple of acclaimed albums and EPs and staging numerous tours around Europe.

Soft Riot’s sound is an amalgamation of JJD’s personal experience with music, containing elements of synthesiser-based film soundtracks, romantic italo-style flourishes, throbbing arpeggiations and angular, psychedelic synth-pop all tied together with an underlying tension. It is a science-fiction heavy soundscape that narrates the listener through today’s fractured, excessive landscape with hints of black humour.

2018’s The Outsider In The Mirrors is the newest release on the Possession Records. A maximalist sonic palette with a sharp-edged sense of post-punk anxiety, unique synth interplay and brooding, claustrophobic new-wave dread.

Gertrud Stein Live und Neues

With a passion for the dark vibrancy of early 80s post punk electronics, Gertrud gives a dark minimal electronics sound combined with fabulous stage presence and flamboyance.

Gertud will also be performing a DJ set of dark minimal and obscure electronics from the 80s, much as she has popularise with her London 'Achtung! Achtung!' nights.

Elizabete Balčus is a Latvian musician and performance artist who creates neo-psychedelic dream pop from surprising, collaged, genre juxtapositions that is simultaneously melodic and experimental.

Anything is permitted in her musical cosmos: looping flute and voice, clicking electro pop beats and playing fruits as a synthesizer as well, leaving the listener in a blissed out trance like state, somewhere between the waking and sleeping. Live performance engage the audience with a psychedelic and theatrical situation that is as befuddling as it is mesmerizing.

We are really lucky to have her time in the UK coincide with our event.. This is going to be very special.
